We have the honour to inform you that, in compli- -ance with a notification issued by His Excellency the Covernor,. our partner Mr. C. Schroter, is arranging to leave the Colony for Shanghai at the end of this week.

Although being unaware at the moment of the exact intentions of the Government, we understand that the affairs of

our firm must now be liquidated.

As, on the departure of Mr. Schroter, our firm will cease to be represented in Hongkong, we respectfully beg to nominate Mr. T. G. Worcester as Liquidator and Controller of our interests at this Port. As this gentleman is well known in the business community of Hongkong, and has not hitherto been associated in any way with our firm, we turst that you will see your way to grant our application, especially as this appointment will meet with the approval of the Manager of the Chartered Bank of India, Australia, and China.
