With reference to your cypher telegram of the
8th March, the General Officer Commanding agrees with me that the publication of the following will be sufficient:- The state of affairs at Singapore is now normal again.
Nearly allthe rioters have surrendered. A few stragglers in the bugh are still being searched for. Seventeen German
prisoners effected their escape. Six have already been
captured.
The The conduct of the rest was exemplary.
36th Sikhs rendered excellent service. Two rioters have
been tried and shot. (Adding a detailed list of casual-
