GOVERNMENT HOUSE,

HONGKONG, 11th. March, 1915.

I have the honour to inform you that I have

had under consideration the question of the salary to be paid to the Assistant Medical Officer at Kowloon.

2.

The present holder of the post is Mr. F. D. Naidu, who was transferred from the post of Ledical Officer, Taipo, on the completion of the Railway as from the 1st. January, 1912. He has drawn since that date a salary of $1,300 and his qualifications did not justify any increment until recently when he passed the final examination of the Hongkong College of Medicine, and qualified for the diploma.

3.

Mr. Naidu's duties are to dispense medicines and assist generally in the dispensary. He visits certain out- -patients and attends calls at Kowloon and the out-stations when requested to do so by the Medical Officer. Mr. Naidu also acts as an interpreter in Hindustani and Cantonese.

4.

I recommend that the salary of the post of Assistant Medical Officer at Kowloon should be 81,320 rising to $1,800 by biemial increments of $120 and that Mr. Naidu should draw 81,560 from the 1st. January, 1916.

I have the honour to be, Sir,

Your most obedient, humble servant,

Amay
