offer to surrender Inland Lots 1019, 1020, and 1021 for the purpose
of forming a public recreation ground in return for the waiving by
the Government of the claim for premium on Inland Lot 29, and I 340 have now to request your authority for this transaction.

I enclose two plana shewing a scheme of laying
out a recreation ground in the valley with a note of the
expenditure which it will be necessary at some future date to
incur out of Public Funds. The most costly item is that of con-
-structing a main nullah. This is a work which as a preventive of
malaria in the district will in any case have to be undertaken at
no distant date.
