With reference to my confidential despatch of the 27th of August last and to previous correspondence, I have the honour to transmit the enclosed copy of correspondence concerning (a) the claim of the Green Island Cement Company for compensation of losses incurred by the interruption of their supply of limestone from the Kwangtung Province, and (b) the continued difficulty in obtaining such supplies even at the present time.

The Green Island Cement Company, in which
unfortunately very many British, Portuguese and Chinese
residents in this Colony have invested their savings, is still suffering from a grave injustice inflicted upon it by the Provincial Authorities and I have again to invoke the protect- ion of His Majesty's Government of its rights and interests.
