One of the Assistant Censors has drawn my attention
to a letter heading the last column of page 5 in to-day's
"Daily Prose", entitled "The Patriotic Service of the Censor":
he also adds that in Singapore, twelve Straits dollars per day
are paid to Assistant Censors for similar duty, but, this
statement I am unable to control.
No one,
I imagine, would object to such a letter,
bad the mean writer sufficient courage to write above his own
nage.
No possible good is served by such epistles, while
much harm may be caused. As a result, I shall not be surprised
if some of our staff resign. Anonymous comments of this kind
are unfair.
