462 Regulations in force for the time being and t
the General Orders issued from time to time
by the Colonial Government. A copy of the
latest edition of the Colonjal Regulations is
enclosed for your information,

Regulations 49 to 73 specify the
proceedings which are taken in a Colony when
it is deemed necessary to suspend an officer
with a view to his removal from the service;
but you must also understand that you will
hold the appointment subject to the pleasure
of the Crown, and that the pleasure of the
Crown that you should no longer hold it may be
signified through the Secretary of State in
which case no special formalities are re-
quired. Should you desire to resign your
appointment you will be required to give
three months notice or to pay to the Govern-
ment a sum equivalent to three months' salary.

You will be provided with a free
passage to the Colony on your signing the
usual agreement with the Crown Agents for
the Colonies, Whitehall Gardens, S.W.,
