BOARD OF EDUCATION,
WHITEHALL, LONDON, S.W.
Hong Kong Education Department
Assistant Mistress.
C.A. 3456/14.
10th September 1914.
Sir,
With reference to Mr. head's letter of the 27th
June (22205/14), I am directed to state that the Board of
Education have decided to recommend Kiss Constance Eleanor
Clarke for appointment as Assistant istrese in the Education.
Department of Hong Kong. Particulars of Miss Clarke's
qualifications and experience will be found in the attached
papers.
I am to point out that iss Clarke does not the possess qualifications such as the Cambridge Teachers
Certificate or the Oxford or London University Diploma
mentioned by the Hong Kong Education Department, but the
Selection Committee considered that the length and character of her experience quite outweigh the lack of formal teaching
certificates and were of opinion that the authorities at
Hong Kong would be very fortunate in securing the services
of a teacher who is so well equipped.
Kr. H.A. Nisbet, Registrar of the Supreme Court, Hong Kong, was a member of the Selection Committee on this
occasion.
The Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office,
Downing Street,
S.X.
I am, Sir,
four obedient Servant,
F. Frank Frath
