5. In reply to my Reference Sheet I havebeen informed

that the pay of the Private Secretary is at the personal

disposal of the Governor and is not governed by the Colonial

Regulations.

6. Will you be good enough, therefore, to advise me as

to whether Mr: Fletcher was entitled to draw full salary as

Private Secretary from 13th October to 24th December 1913, and

also whether more than half pay as Private Secretary can be

granted from the 25th December 1913 to 8th January 1914.
