REPORT of the DIRECTOR OF COLONIAL AUDIT on the Account
of the Treasurerof Hong Kong for the year ended 31st December, 1912.
As certified thereon, the above mentioned Account,
together with the Statement of Assets and Liabilities on
the 31st December 1912, has been examined by officers
acting under my directions.

2. The questions which have arisen in the course
of examination, with the exception of those referred to
below, have been satisfactorily settled, as far as possible,
as also have the outstanding questions in connection with
the account of the previous year.
Misceller –
3. The Head "Public Works Extraordinary
eous" includes a sum of $3744.15, purporting to be on
account of the improvement of Ap Liu Village, which was
not properly chargeable as final expenditure within the
year. When attention was drawn to this irregularity the
account for the year had been closed but an adjustment
has been made in the account of the following year.
4. Claims amounting to $7316 were made in 1911 by
the British Section of the Kowloon Canton Railway against
the Chinese Section for the estimated loss due to the
suspension
