Mr. Ralston is a strong and athletic looking Scotchman with a pleasant and quiet manner. He is
capable and clear in answering questions and the
Committee considered that he would be well suited to
the appointment and be able to perform very competently
all the duties of the post.
Although he has had no experience of teaching
in a Secondary School he was educated in such a School
and has taught in Evening Schools.
He has travelled in France, took French for
his degree and gives private lessons in that language.
He has been through a two years' course of phonetics
in a Training College and is conversant with the
phonic system of teaching reading.
