With reference to War Office letter 10/1939

(F.1.) of 31st December 1913, I am commanded by the

Army Council to send the enclosed statements (A. & B.)

showing the cost of the garrison of Hong Kong in the

financial year 1913/14 and the Military contribution in

respect of that period.

It will be seen that the cost to Imperial

funds was approximately £389,593 in excess of the

contribution paid by the Colony.
