Sir,
I am directed by the Board of Trade to transmit
to you herewith copy of a letter which has been received
from the Bradford Chamber of Commerce enquiring as to the
prospects of business with Hong Kong being resumed and
whether it would be possible to obtain by telegraph from
the Hong Kong Government a list of the German and Austro-
Hungarian firms in the Colony who are in a position to
transact business.
The Board would be glad if "r Secretary Harcourt
could see his way to cause a telegraphic enquiry to be ad-
dressed to the Hong Kong Government in the sense requested
by the Chamber; and they would further be glad to be favour-
ed with any observations on the subject of the enclosed let-
ter which it may be desired to offer.
A
The Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office.
I have the honour to be, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
