The American Embassy has the honour to submit
the following copy of a telegram from the Secretary of
State at Washington relating to German firms doing
business in Hong-Kong:-
Telegram from Consul-General HongKong received October 26th advises that HongKong Government is
placing all German firms there under control of
receiverships of British nationality for liquida-
tion. These firms are agents for many important
American business houses and action causes
American firms to be without representation.
Kindly take up with Foreign Office and point out
the hardships which will result to American
business in Hong Kong and enquire what relief
can be afforded.
