I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to transmit
to you herewith copy of a despatch from His Majesty's
Iinister at Peking on the subject of the piratical
attack on the Steamship "Tai On".
Subject to the concurrence of the Secretary of
State for the Colonies, Sir E. Grey proposes to
approve Sir J. Jordan's action in the matter.
