POREIGN OFTIGE,

June 10th,

LIN 14

I transmit to you herewith copy of a letter from

the Colonial Office on the subject of the adherence of

Bermuda to the International Opium Convention, and I

request that you will now sign the Convention on behalf

of that Colony.

As soon as the Convention has been signed on

behalf of Bermuda, there will remain no further objec-

tion to the Convention being ratified by His Majesty's

Government. I should be glad therefore if you would

he Honcurable

obtain from the Netherlands Government as soon as

possible a copy of the Protocol recording the

signatures handed in subsequently to the original

signature of the Convention (including that of Bernuda),

in order that the ratification of this country may be

Cuposited without delay.

I am, with great truth and regard,

Sir A. Johnstone, G.C.V.O.

dc.,

&c.

sir,

Your most obedient,

humble Servant,

for Sir R. Grey)
