transmit to you herewith copy of a despatch from His
kajesty's Chargé d'Affairen at bienne, forwarding copy of
a note addressed to the staarland ¡ inister by the Austro-
Lungarian dovernment declaring their intention of adhering
as soon as possible to the international Opium Convention.
The declaration smears to „vir
rey to be satin-
factory and, subject to the concurrence of the loard of
frade, he would propose that the Convention should be rati-
fied by Nis dajesty's doverment so soon as the adherence
of Lermuds, the sole outstanding British Colony, has been
obtained.
A latter, of which a copy is enclosed, has been ad-
dressed to the Caloniel Offios with a view to securing the
Deora tary
to the board of Trade.
