and 1908 over such companies could not be
exercised here over China Companies as such
under the Order in Council. Provision for
such control being necessary, it is well that
it should be exorcised under the Crder-in-
Council, as there does not appear to be any
reason for limiting the powers of our local
registrar in this mtter.
3. As to the jurisdiction of his Lajesty's
Supreme Court for thâna and the law applicable
to "China Companies", I think that Jurisdiction
should be complete and that in so far as the
new Companies Ordinance (amended as suggated)
does not otherwise provide, and in regard to
all mtter: not specifically dealt with by it,
the law applicable by the Supreme Court here
should be the law of .ngland for the time being.
Article 17 of the revised draft Order says
"nothing in this order shall prejudice or
