Sir:-
I have the honour to report to you, for the
information of the Secretary of State the following
facts: -
George Ford of Shanghai a British subject, a
bastard, died at Kobe on August 21st, 1888, without
so far as could be then, or since, ascertained any
surviving relatives. By his Will dated 3rd October
1885, which was duly proved in His Majesty's Court
for Japan on July 5th 1889, Mr. Ford devised his whole
Estate to William Keswick, then of Hongkong and
Eastwick Park, Surrey "to be devoted by him to such
charitable or other purposes as he in his sole opinion
may consider advisable."
