passage to England. A Certificate signed by a duly qualified medical officer employed by Government shall be conclusive evidence on the question whether or not the person engaged was compelled to resign his appointment by reason of ill health within the meaning of this clause.
8. If the person engaged shall at any time neglect or refuse or from any cause fillness excepted as provided in Clause 7), become unable to conform or comply with any of the clauses of this agreement or any of the duties required of him : or any of the orders of the Government or their officer: or shall correspond verbally or otherurse, directly or indirectly in or about the affairs of the Governmen with any person not in the employment of the Government or shall publish, directly or indirectly any document or information of any kind affecting the Government or shall in any manner misconduci himself it shall be competent for the Government to declare his employment at an end and he shall be forthwith dismissed by the Government and all rights, and advantages reserved to him by this agreement shall cease and he shall be liable if called upon to repay on demand the amount paid for his passage to the Colony including railway fare.
9.
The Government mory at any time determine the engagement of the person engaged on giving him three months notice in writing or on paying him one month's palary and if he is in the Coloms at the time of such determination of his engagement providing him with a fee passage to England provided that he claims and avails himself of such return passag within one month. In either case entitled to half pay on the

of the Government of Hong Kong, of the one part, and

Whereby it is agreed between the said parties as follows:—

(hereinafter called the person engaged) for the consideration mentioned in the conditions of service hereunto annexed agrees, so soon as require1 by the Crown Agents for the Colonies, to proceed to Hong Kong as Constable in the Police Force of the Government of that Colony, and to act in all respects according to the directions and instructions given to him by the Government of Hong Kong through its properly qualified officers, and he undertakes that ho will faithfully and honestly fuldl the duties required of him by of on behalf of the Government of Hong Kong for the term of his engagement or for any future period of service if he should engage himself after the termination of the first period.
2. A Second Claes passage to Hong Kong shall be provided for the person engaged at the cost of the Government of Hong Kong.
3. The Orown Agouts for the Colonies shall pay for and on behalf of the Government of Hong Kong to the person engaged, after this Agreement has been duly signed, the sum of £15 by way of bounty, and the person engaged agrees to refund and repay to them the sum of £15, paid to him by way of bounty, if he should fail to proceed to Hong Kong when directed to do so.
The Crown Agents for the Colonies shall be in no wise personally liable for any matters arising out of this agreement.
