REC
REG 15 OCT 14
Ca. With reference to your letter of the 27th June, No 22452 and previous correspondence, I am commanded by
My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to state that they
are sending Mr Herbert Henské, a Warrant Telegraphist Royal
Naval Reserve, (for temporary service) to Hong Kong, and
are instructing the Naval Authorities there to employ hin
for any service which may be required in connection with
the erection of the Wireless Telegraph Station at Cape
d'Aguilar
2.
Mr Henské has an expert knowledge of wireless
telegraphy and is a man of good education and ability for
whose services there is not sufficient opening in the ord-
inary appointments in the Royal Navy, but as he volunteered
for service on the outbreak of war My Lords have felt luc-
tant to discharge him and they think that he may prove of
considerable value both to the Naval and Colonial Authori-
ties in connection with the erection of this Station.
3.
As the Station would not in the ordinary course
have any Naval personel until its completion My Lords will
the be glad if instructions may be given to Colonial Authorities
to place themselves in communication with the Commodore,
Hong Kong, as to the employment of Mr Henské to the best
advantage.
The Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office.
I am, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
Whakam free
