Sir,

I have the honour to inform you that I have had

under consideration the question of the salaries of the Land

Bailiffs of whom there are five, two under the Director of Public

Works, two under the District Officer, Northern District, and one

in the Southern District of the New Territories. Their names and

service are as follows:-

Public Works Department.

F. H. Dillon. Joined as Tarder in 1901. Land Bailiff

1904.

J. Lackay.

Joined the Police Force in 1904. Land

Bailiff 1907.

Northern District.

A. C. Burford. Joined the Police Force in 1908. Land

Bailiff 1913.

G. J. Chambers. Joined the Police Force in 1910. Land

Bailiff 1913.

Southern District.

K. McLennan.

Joined the Police Force 1905. Land Bai-

liff 1910.

Their salaries are £210 rising by triennial increments of £20 to £250, and in common with the Public Works Overseers, Sanitary
