Fung Yan Kwong,

office.

I am a Clerk, 3rd Grade in the General Post

On Sunday 11th October about 4'45 P.M, I was

sorting letters and No.43 postman made a report to me.

He said that Kr. Remedios's son and a Chinese had gone

into the Registration Branch and had opened a safe, I

looked and saw them there and I then went and told Mr,

Martin, who was in the General office. Mr. Martin im-

mediately went to the Registration Branch. I followed

and also Mr. Reed, the Accountant. Mr. Martin asked Mr.

Remedios son what he was doing there, and he said that

his father had told him to go and get some money from the

safe. Mr. Martin told him that he had no business to be

there, and that he had better leave the office. I drew

Mr. Martin's attention to the fact that the boy was hold-

ing Bank notes in his hand. The boy and the Chinese went

out.

By the Colonial Treasurer, I did not see the Cuinese and the

boy enter the Post office as I was sorting in the Local

delivery portion of the office. A person could get in

without one seeing him.

By Kr. Remedios, When I looked into the Registration Branch

I saw

that the Chinese and the boy had already opened

the safe.

By Mr. Remedios.

It is sometimes possible for two persons to

get in to the General office on Sunday, when the postmen

are taking the Canton mail, It would be noticed if two

people came into the office on Sunday afternoon and walked

about.

(84.) Fung Yan Kwong,

13. 11, 14.
