Most respectfully I beg to submit:- (a). War Office letter No.7/mis /3604(F.3) dated the 23rd
October, 1913, in response to my application praying for a pension or a gratuity in lieu of my services in the 25th Punjabis and Hongkong Regiment for 15 years and 151 days (from 3rd July, 1887, to 30th November, 1902) seems to misunderstand my claim as set forth in my petition in- asmuch as it does not entertain my prayer under the plea that my services to the War Office cannot be considered
pensionable along with my services in the Police for which latter I have been awarded a pension of $3.80 a month.
(b). My prayer in the said application was for grant of a
pension or a gratuity not unlike other employees of the Hongkong Regiment who were fortunate enough to get the one or the other at its adjournment.
(c). While I am grateful to the Government for what has been
awarded to me in the shape of a pension in lieu of the service I put in the Police I think I am not asking too much if I request the favour of your very kindly re-open- ing my case and granting mea pension or a gratuity which- ever you think right for my services in the Hongkong Regiment.
Hoping this petition of mine will meet your favour- able consideration and with respects
I beg to remain,
gir,
Your most obedient servant,
Sd
Ismail Khan
Pensioner
