Following telegram has been received from Secretary of
State dated 31st October:-
His Majesty's Government for purposes of hampering exportation of sugar from Germany and Austria have decided to prohibit teuporarily importation of all sugar into the United Kingdom except under licence. Sugar other than enemy sugar cleared from port of shipment to this country on or before 26th October 1914 or imported under contract made prior to August 4th 1914 is exempted from the prohibition.
