The remark about "consideration upon their departure"
can only refer to Miss Parkinson's own case which I have replied
to or to the case of the two sisters who resigned in April last
to get married. I accidentally became aware that one of these
two had been given some say five, some say six, days leave
immediately prior to the date her time expired. The other sister,
afso who was in another hospital, he asked for leave, which I did
not grant, but at her request she was allowed to remain on to
suit herself until within a day or two of her marriage. These applications for leave immediately prior to the date on which
the terms of service expired were made at a time when an agitat- ion was taking place to get the number of nurses increased.
