Report on an Ordinance entitled

An Ordinance to amend the Jury ordinance, 1887.

The main object of this Ordinance is to exempt from Jury

service all officers and non-commissioned officers of the Vol-

unteer Force, and other efficient members to such a number as

may be allowed by the Governor-in-Council

The introduction of legislation to effect this object was

approved by the Right Honourable the Secretary of State in his despatch of the 30th July 1914.

The opportunity has been taken to bring section 4(5) of the Jury Ordinance, 1887, into line with recent legislation

relating to the registration of dentists.

In my opinion this is an Ordinace to which His Excellency the Governor may properly assent in the name of His Kajesty

and on His Kehalf.

Attorney General.
