Your telegram 19th September according to ship's papers and standing interrogatories American ship Hanametal formerly Germany (1) captured August 21st on voyage to Tsingtau to bring women and children from Tsingtau. At the time of capture officers all German except one Norwegian owner William Katz American citizen residing at Shanghai and Tsingtau head office Shanghai wife and family (?) residing at Tsingtau. Hanametal mortgaged 49,000 taeļs to Yangtsze Indurance Association Limited a Hongkong Company with many British shareholders.
