Report on an Ordinance entitled
An Ordinance to amend the Deportation Ordinances,
1912 and 1913.
A copy of the draft bill was forwarded to the Right Honour-
able the Secretary
of State for the Colonies under cover of a
despatch dated the 2nd April 1914, and he communicated his approval
of it by his despatch dated the 8th May 1914.
The Ordinance is identical with that draft except in the three following points, where alterations were made for clearness or
symmetry:-
(a) The word "and" has been substituted for the dash
between "1912" and "1913" in the title.
(b) Sub-sub-section (e) of the new sub-section enacted
as sub-section (12) of section 4 of the Deportation
Ordinance, 1912 as amended by the Deportation Ordi-
nance, 1913, has been re-cast with a view to greater
clearnesB.
(c) The word "person" has been substituted for the word
"prisoner" in the 12th and 15th lines of paragraph
(b) of section 3.
In my opinion this is an Ordinance to which His Excellency
the Governor may properly assent in the name of His Kajesty and on
His behalf..
Attorney General.
