Hon. Mr. W. Chatham, C.M.G.
Dear Sir,
I beg to call your kind attention that I have not
received any payment for the last two months in connection with
the building of the Law Courts, As I understand from Vr,Fisher
that there will be no settlement until the end of the current
month, I would like to mention that it is almost impossible for
me to continue without pecuniary assistance, as I am being very
hard pressed for funds I trust you will see your way of making
a substantial grant so as to relive me of the present financial
embarrassment as I am placed in a rather awkward position with
so many outstanding accounts still unpaåd. I could only hope
that it will be possible for you to accommodate me with a good
sum in the course of the week for which I thank you in advance
for the favour.
Yours faithfully,
(sd.) Chan A Tong.
