5th February 1910.

E.G. Fisher Esq:

Dear Sir,

"ith regard to our conversation of 2nd February 1910

cancelling the contract for the fittings of the interior of the

New Law Courts, I beg to state that I have given fill consider-

ation on the matter and I trust you will allow me to continue

for the following reasons. I have approached the subject to

my sub-contractor the Carpenter who has agreed to execute the

work for a specified sum and he has declined to entertain the

proffered suggestion of withdrawing from the agreement, as the

work is now being carried on without interruption, I hope you

will kindly allow the original contract to continue and I can

assure you that I will do my bestendeavour to accelerate the

completion within the required time. I would like to point out

that the drawback in connection with the work, was due to the

heavy loss sustained by me in a previous contract which greatly

handicapped me for want of funds and also partly accounted for

owing to the delay in receiving particulars otherwise the work

would have proceeded more expeditiously. I trust you will be

good enough to extend to me the necessary assistance as I am

prepared to supply sufficient wood to complete the whole of the

contract in 1 months time. If my proposition is agreeable, I

shall rely on you to grant me an advance of 75% of the value

of thewood and I will find the balance in order to meet the

importers account for the materials, I will also secure a much

larger staff of workmen and am quite sanguine of completing the contract within the stipulated time.

Trusting that my request will meet with your approval as it will save a great deal of trouble and confusion, should you decide to place the business in the hands of an outsider.

Yours &c.

(sd.) Chan A Tong.
