night TAN NGAN CHI (detective) called on Leung Young who paid him $600 in $10 rolls.
The same gang who pirated the "Chung Wa' "Shing Tai", "Tai On" and perhaps other vessels were invariably to be found in Macao. Their principal haunts were 14 Sam Pa Tsai, 15 sui Tai Wai and 6 Pan Chong Miu. Over ten of them were to be found at any time at 14 Sam Pa Tsai, this was their principal moeting place.
After a successful piracy the majority of them or at least the most of the leaders used to remain about the gambling houses and brothels so long as their money lasted.
Leung Young told me himself that he lost $800 in two days at gambling and lost all the monoy he got out of the "Shing Tai" piracy in less than two weeks in the Vacao gambling houses.
When all the money is spent they commence planning a piracy on another vessel.
So long as they had money they used to hang around
he gambling dens and brothels. When funds were low they used
apond the most of their time at the haunts above mentioned.
