With reference to the concluding paragraph of my comfidential despatch of the 4th June, I have the honour to transmit for your information copy of a letter, with its enɑlo- gures, which I have addressed to the Governor of Macao on the subject of that Colony being used as a base by pirates.
I have sent a copy of the same letter to His
Majesty's Minister at Peking.
It is very desirable that the delimitation of the boundaries of Macao should be proceeded with in order that the territory in dispute should be brought under the jurisdiction of either China or Portugal.
