GOVERNMENT HOUSE.

HONGKONG. 9th July, 1914.

I have the honour to transmit a plan showing an

area edged in neutral tint approximately 6.09 acres in extent,

which represents Inland Lot No.1415 granted in 1897 on a 999

years lease on condition that it be used only as a Cemetery for

Eurasians; an encroachment on the East side is shewn coloured

yellow.

2.

The cemetery is now almost entirely occupied and

the space remaining available is too limited to meet the future

The lessees have requirements of the Eurasian Community. applied that the adjoining area shewn edged red on the plan be

granted as an extension. The area applied for is approximately 107,536 square feet in extent and owing to its precipitous

nature unlikely to be required for any other purpose.

3.

I recommend that the extension be granted on the

following terms:-

(a). The lease of Inland Lot 1415 to be surrendered

and a new lease taken out for the whole area

edged gray, coloured yellow and edged red on plan enclosed herewith for the residue of a term of 999 years commencing from 1st March, 1897. Crown Rent to remain unaltered, viz. $1.00per

(b).
