To the Hon. Colonial Secretary.

Sir,

Volunteer Headquarters,

13th. May, 1914.

295A

I have the honour to report that I held the Annual

Inspection of the Cadet Company on the 11th. instant.

There were present on parade 43 out of a total

strength of 47.

The March Past and Company Drill were well carried out, the boys were very steady and quiet and showed evidence of

careful and patient instruction.

The new uniform gave a very smart appearance to the boys, and this will be further improved when all the boys have provided themselves with the uniform stockings.

I have seen the Company at drill several times during the season and inspected them in Camp in January. At the Inspection on Monday there was a very marked improvement in their drill as compared with what I saw in Camp.

I have etc.,

(sd.) A. Chapman,

Lieut.-Col.,

Commandant, H.K.V.C.
