During July

This indicates that the Contractor made a good effort

to employ an increase number, although it never

reached the 250 stipulated. His failure to employ the

number desired was partly if not wholly due to the slow rate of delivery of granite and it was beyond his power to obtain a more abundant supply. For these reasons I consider that the Contractor should be paid the amount claimed which is two

thirds of the agreed sum.

14. Fizing 14a Granolithic slabs and rolls.

The rate of 50 cents per yard Sup. allowed in the final account for fixing only, is a reasonable proportion of the Contractors' price in the Bill of quantities for supplying and fixing; and is fair: but the Contractor is entitled to the cost of removing this material from Wanchai to the site. Removing l†' Slaba with rolls 1 mile @ 17 cents per yd. Sup. 38.93.
