We have received instructions from the Government of
Kwang Tung to engage Solicitors and Counsel to assist the Crown and to take all other necessary steps to oppose the petition of Chung Sau Nam to the Privy Council for special leave to appeal from the decision of the Full Court of this Colony discharging the rule nisi in the Habeas Corpus proceedings and also in the event of such petition being granted to oppose the Appeal itself, in due
course.
We shall be glad if you will let us have a copy of the
Memorandum which you are forwarding to the Colonial Office in connection with the petition for Special Leave to Appeal as we propose forwarding a copy of same together with instructions to our
London Agents and to put them into communication with the Colonial
Office in England.
