King Edward VII Scholarships.

Suggested Regulations.

The Scholarships shall be tenable by British subjects only.

2. Each Scholarship shall be of the annual value of £40 for the term

of five years and shall be tenable in the University of Hongkong

in any Faculty.

One or more Scholarships shall be awarded each year on the result of the July Matriculation Examination, provided that if, in the opinion of the Examiners, there is no candidate of sufficient merit no Scholarship shall be awarded.

Ne candidate shall be eligible for a Scholarship if he has attain-

-ed the age of 21 on the lst. of July in the year in which the

Framination is held.

No student of the University shall be eligible to compete for a

King Edward VII Scholarship.

Every Scholar will be required to attend the full course of the Faculty for which he enters, and to carry out his studies to the satisfaction of the Dean of his Faculty.

If a Scholar fails to pass the Intermediate, Professional, Final Examination, or should he not carry his studies to the satisfaction of the Dean of his Faculty, the Council may withhold any or all future payments in respect of such Scholarship. Should a Scholar be guilty of serious misconduct the Council.may, on the recommendation of the Senate, reduce his Scholarship for a period commensurate with the gravity of his offence or may with- -bold all future payments in respect of such Scholarship.
