so isolated and so difficult of defence that, if I may express an opinion, it seems ill adapted for the purpose of a Wireless Station for Military and Naval Purposes.

I venture, therefore, to enquire whether it would not be possible to design such a Station to suit a site on Stonecutters Island, which if the difficulty of its circumscribed area can be overcome is obviously the ideal position for the pro- -posed Station.

With reference to the concluding portion of

the 4th. para raph of your Despatch under reply, I have received fresh enquiries as to whether this Government is prepared to consider a large development scheme in Kowloon Bay. I should there- -fore be led if the question whether the site for a Wireless Station in this Bay can be abandoned or not could be settled at an early date.
