A 6 MAR 14 I have the honour to submit the following application for your consideration and request that it may be forwarded to Him Excellency the Governor.
I would also respectfully beg that owing to those excep- tional circumstances you will be able to recomend that my pro. Claus serviss (7) years) be counted.
-
I was appointed Peing Sister 26th February 1897, acting Extron 1 year 30th Mar -- 1401 35th September 1902, and resign- od on the quoscion of my warriage, 2nd October 1904.
Owing to adverse circumstances and the sudden death of my itsaband (26th August,1911) I found myself totally unprovided for, vad obliged to resume nursing for a livelihood,
Then it was buggossed that I should return to the Hospital I decided to accept the appointment, having heard through Kr. Clementi, chat the Governor Sir Frederick Lugard had directed that the question (which was raised) of by previous service shoul stand over får future decision, (See copy of letter enolased) and I rejoined the staff locally (1st February 1912) un that under- standing.
In February 1912 Dr. Atkinson went on leave and subsequently| retired, and in May of the same year on making enquiries I was again informed that the question must stand over,
Further delay in submitiing this spplication was caused by the sgpointment of the new Principal Civil budimal Officer and than the absence from the Colony of His Excellency the Governor
I have the honour to be,
Bir,
The Principal Civil
Kedical officer,
Your obedient servant,
(Sd.) F. M. Barlow, (nee Barr)
Bister.
