In appearance he is slightly commonplace, and he

is rather small of stature. There is no distinction in

his manner of speech. But I believe he is a man of good

ability and good judgement. While he would be con-

cilatory with colleagues, he has a mind of his own. He

would work hard, and could be thoroughly trusted. I

should expect him always to be ready to do more than he

was bound to do. He has a sober, practical mind, and

he would probably win his way steadily.
