pension from the Police. It appears that, according to him,
men who served in the Hong Kong Singapore Battalion, Royal
Artillery, and then transferred to the Police are allowed
this boon, and as the old Hong Kong Regiment was also a local
Colonial Force he thinks this might be allowed to him also.
He is a fine old man, an excellent specimen of the real nice
old Punjabi, and if His Excellency could see his way to
helping him, I think he is a deserving case. He is now
particularly anxious to finish his service and go back to
India on pension as his wife has quite lately lost her sight
through small-pox and there is no one to look after his kide.

No.10611-1 (A.G.10), (a) "Pensions Indian Army", dated the
17th June 1912, I have the honour to state that in the
absence of the regimental accounts of the (late) Hong Kong
regiment which have been destroyed, this office is unable to
ascertain whether gratuity was paid to Ismail Khan, now a
Constable in the Hong Kong Police Force.
