Sir,
With reference to my despatch from Fiji dated 11th
March last, requesting that Lieutenant L.R.B.W. Taylor, Royal
Artillery, be permitted to accompany me to Hongkong as my
Aide-de-Camp, I have now the honour to inform you that I have
learned that Lieutenant the Hon: FitzR. Somerset, Grenadier
Guards, is sailing on the 17th instant, presumably with your
sanction, to take up the position of A.D.C. to me.
I have accordingly to request that Lieut: Taylor
be permitted to act as my Private Secretary and (extra)
A.D.C.
