Translation of a telegram received from

In a telegram received from the Tutuh of Kwang-
tung, it is stated that Chung Hsiu-nan, an officer in
charge of the Kwangtung Provincial Treasury, has
stolen from the Treasury $150,000. He has been ar-
rested and is in custody at Hongkong, but the order
for his extradition has not yet been given by the
British Supreme Court there. As there is every
proof of Chung Hsiu-nan's having stolen the above
money, we have communicated with the British Minister
in Peking asking that the said Chung Hsiu-nan be de-
livered up to the Chinese Government to be dealt
with and you will please approach the Foreign Office
for their assistance in this matter.
