In reply to your despatch No. 106

of the 9th ultimo, I have the honour to

report that, according to inforation which I

have received from His Majesty's Consul-

General at Canton, the Ixlustrial Commissioner

who lus been responsible for the opposition to

the demand of the Green Isliud Company has

been dimalused. lir. Jamieson is of opinion

that, as a result of his dimissal, there is

every prospect of the Company being able to

obtain supplies of limestone in the near

future.
