I HAVE received Sir J. Jordan's despatch No. 231 of the 4th ultimo, respecting the request of the Wai-chiao Pu that the import of Indian opium into the province of Chekiang should be prohibited under article 3 of the Opium Agreement of 1911.
approve the terms of the reply returned by Sir J. Jordan to the request of the Chinese Government.
