Bros & AUG REIGN OFFICE
August 5th, 1913.
Sir:-
I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to acknow-
ledge the receipt of your letter (26278) of the 31st
ultimo respecting the proposal of the Governor of Hong
Kong to deny the hospitality of the Colony to five
persons who have been engaged in intriguing against
the Chinese Government and to deport any other members
of the Kuomintang party who persist in political
intrigues after warning.
Sir E. Grey has no objection to the Governor being
authorised to take the steps which His Excellency
recommends provided that facilities for removing to a
place of safety are given to the five persons referred
to as well as to any political refugees who may escape
to Hong Kong and to those individuals who, after the
proposed warning is issued, incur the penalty of
deportation.
The Under Secretary of State,
Colonial Office.
I am, Sir,
Your most obedient,
humble Servant,
