With reference to the letter from this Department of the 1st ultimo, I am directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to transmit to you herewith a copy of a despatch from His Majesty's Chargé d'Affaires at Peking enclosing further correspondence with the Chinese Government regarding the election to the Chinese National Assembly of deputies to replace Chinese resident abroad.
I am to enquire whether the Secretary of State for the Colonies would desire that His Majesty's Minister's last communication to the Wai-Chiao-Pu should be supplemented in any way.
