Foreign Office, May 26, 1913. I AM directed by Secretary Sir E. Grey to transmit herewith, to be laid before the Marquess of Crewe, copy of a letter from Messrs. Sassoon on the opium question in China.
The receipt of the letter has been acknowledged, and Sir E. Grey does not propose to give any further answer until he has had an opportunity of considering the despatch from Sir J. Jordan, now on its way, respecting the proposal of the Chinese Government for the revision of the 1911 Agreement.
