I have the honour to acquaint you, with reference to my
Despatch No 9 Treaty of January 27th, that I have received
a lote from the Kinister for Foreign Affairs informing me in
reply to my request for the provisional arrest of the fugâtive
offender Tracey Woodward, that a close watch was kept on the
arrival at Marseilles of the steamship "Le Calédonien" in
which Woodward was supposed to have embarked, and also on the
Steamship "Amazone" which arrived at the same port on February
4th, but without result. Konsieur Jonnart adds that since the
latter date no other steamship of the L'ennageries Faritimen
has arrived at Marseilles.
I have the honour to be with great truth and respect,
Sir,
your most obedient,
The Right Honour ble
humble servant,
(Signed) Francis Bertie.
